October 15–16
These releases went live on October 15 and 16. Most of it is building: taller roofs, roofs that meet your walls properly, bigger windows and simpler upkeep.
Roofs, walls and windows
- New roofs rise 3 m over the same footprint, so there’s room for a loft. Roofs you already built keep their height.
- The Triangle Roof is now a pitched roof over triangle footprints. Square and triangle roofs join with hips and valleys automatically, and R cycles the joins that fit.
- Walls placed under a roof close the gable ends, and roof edges cover the wall tops.
- Roofs snap straight onto foundations and floors as well as their edges.
- Wall Frame (for double and garage doors), Triangle Roof and a new 0.75 m Quarter Wall are on the first building wheel. The 1 m Low Wall stays.
- Windows are now 1.5 × 1.4 m with a 1 m sill, so you can crouch-jump through them. Glass, bars and HQM inserts fit the new opening.
- Doors you’re authorised on always open and close, even with people or a ladder in the way. Doors also work across half-height shelves.
- Heads and held items no longer poke through ceilings and walls.
Upkeep made simple
- Upkeep costs half as much as before.
- The cupboard shows one line of 24-hour costs and one protection time.
- Running out of one material only decays the pieces made of it. Funded pieces slowly heal.
- Unfunded pieces farther from the cupboard decay faster.
Blades, loot and raiding
- Three melee weapons with their own models: Bone Knife, Machete and Salvaged Sword. They hit hard but gather poorly.
- Every gun can now be found in suitable loot.
- 2× servers boost supplies, not guns, gear, keycards or explosives. A crate holds at most one of each weapon.
- Door and wall health and explosive damage now follow Rust’s values.
Bedwars
- You spawn with a revolver, spare ammo and bandages.
- Wooden barricades work as portable cover once the walls drop.
- Glass windows, metal bars and HQM windows are in the building shop.
- During the raid you can loot other teams’ quarries.
- Barrels give exactly 25 scrap, and doors animate again.
Interface
- Furnaces show progress as a fill over each item that’s cooking, instead of a separate bar.
- The research screen was redesigned, with search across every tier and a clear unlock path.
- Menus sit above the HUD, and Playground splits items and kits into separate tabs.
- Map markers stay at their exact positions.
- Resource and item icons were refreshed.
Fixes
- Fuel barrels sit along roads instead of in open fields, and nothing grows in lava.
- Crowded servers render other players more cheaply.
- Built-up servers load much faster after sitting empty.
