Sound
- Walking on sand is quieter. Beaches now use the same soft steps as the desert, about 4 dB under grass, and the squeaky sand steps are gone.
- Thirteen sounds that never loaded now play: traps, the SAM site, brewing tea, fertilizer, putting on fur clothing and the storm wreck.
- Each biome's wildlife sounds only play while you are in that biome, and the jungle's night chorus fades out on the volcano.
- Breaking ore no longer crackles on its loudest hits.
- Hitting an animal or scientist with a melee weapon no longer plays the hit sound twice.
Less graphics memory
Base skins and the rebuilt armor and clothing now load from GPU-compressed textures, like the rest of the island. A Gravewick Manor base uses about 21 MB of textures instead of 85, and eight armored survivors about 13 MB instead of 53, with no visible difference. That leaves more room on Macs and laptops that ran out of graphics memory.
Fixes
- Armored gloves and bracers in first person no longer appear a moment after you put them on.
- Trades goes back to your list when the offer you are reviewing is withdrawn or expires.
- The HUD scale setting and the build info line now size correctly on large screens.
- If the map fails to draw in the background, it falls back to the older painter instead of staying blank.
- Scientists keep to two shooters at a time even after switching from one survivor to another.
- The building ghost turns red at a base's 60-decoration limit instead of placing nothing, and a tool cupboard can't claim a base that already holds more than 60.
- "Use it now" on a sign-in reward skins the next item you craft straight away.
- Buying in the Shop updates your Sparks, skins and crates even when the live connection to your account is down.
- Settings changed on another computer are no longer overwritten by a game you left open.
- When two servers fill up in the same minute, the extra servers that open for them no longer crowd onto one machine.
