Water that follows the weather
- New waves are shared by everything: what you see, swimming, boats and bullets all use the same sea.
- Storms raise the swell. Rain leaves rings on the water, whitecaps break, and storm surf can be heard on the beach.
- Waves wet the sand as they wash up the beach.

Hemp you can find
Wild hemp is now a chest-high plant with fan leaves and pale flowering tops. It’s visible from 170 m and about 2¼ times as common. Hemp you already picked or left stays as it was.
Blueprints and the pump shotgun
- The tech trees decide which blueprints are locked. Prerequisites follow what an item is made from, and researching an item never costs more than its tree node.
- Code Lock and Research Table are starter blueprints.
- New: the Pump Shotgun (Workbench 2) and 12 ga Buckshot (Workbench 1).
- Blueprints you already learned are kept.
Building and movement
- Ramps, steps and spiral stairs are on the Advanced building wheel.
- The placement ghost turns red wherever the server would refuse the piece, such as on resource nodes, other players, someone else’s building zone or salvage sites.
- No more snapping back when stepping off ledges, at corners or beside tall triangle roofs.
- Your survivor no longer hovers beside ledges, and small step-ups are one real step.
Around the island
- Monument lamps light the ground at night: the Outpost, oil rig, gas stations, Harbor and Satellite Dish.
- Dead-tree branches attach to their limbs, and rocks no longer show flat undersides.
- Rock ledges look like weathered outcrops instead of stacked rings.
Graphics
- New option: Settings › Display › Upscaling. It rebuilds a sharp full-size image from a lower render resolution. It’s off by default, and fast-moving players can look jagged with it on.
- Sun shadows no longer vanish after changing graphics settings.
- Base interiors are slightly brighter, and forest shadows no longer jump when they update.
- The loading screen no longer shows an animal standing in front of the camera.
