Updates without the kick
Before an update, servers now show a countdown under the compass, with reminders at 5, 2 and 1 minutes. When the update lands, your game reloads and rejoins the same server by itself. Your survivor sleeps where you stood, so nothing is lost. Empty servers update straight away.
Light and dark
- Nights are darker, with a weaker moon that the forest canopy partly blocks.
- Shade under the trees is darker in daytime too.
- Flashlights have a bright core and a wider spill, so they’re useful for finding your way.
- Torches, campfires, furnaces and lamps light up their surroundings properly, and more of them can light at once.
- Base interiors are darker than the open air outside.
The Outpost and its scientists
The Outpost was rebuilt as a walled trade yard with a gate, shop row, promenade and loading yard. Scientists aim within a cone instead of hitting every shot, reload, pause on patrol and wear a new suit.
Hear other survivors
- Nearby players can be heard walking, jumping, landing, swimming, drawing weapons, looting, eating, entering codes, using doors and building.
- Their footsteps stay audible, muffled, through your base walls.
- Melee hits on walls, doors and deployables sound like the material you’re hitting.
- Early sounds were remastered, and deer, boar, fishing, ladders and round start and end cues got new sounds.
Arena and Bedwars
Arena and Bedwars matches are now lobbies that players create, instead of fixed official servers.
Also in this update

- Holding Alt to look around keeps your hands and item facing forward, like in Rust.
- Dead trees in the badlands are bare snags again, not leafy trees.
- The volcano has gullies, ash drifts, sulfur crusts and more steam vents.
- Linking a box to a workbench with one click was removed.
- A new setting shows or hides the stats line.
- Fixed dark streaks on hoods and other clothing in motion.
