Bedwars rebuilt, controller support and furniture for your base

Bedwars now plays by Rust Bedwars rules, controllers work across the game, three scavenged guns arrive and bases get furniture you can actually use.

October 12–14

Three days of releases went live between October 12 and 14. These notes collect them in one place: a new Bedwars, controller support, new weapons and a lot of building and base work.

Bedwars, rebuilt

  • One teammate carries a placeable team bed (500 health). Your team respawns on it until it’s destroyed.
  • Scrap is the only shop currency. It comes from your team quarry, the centre quarry and barrels.
  • Each yard has four themed vending machines. The centre has explosives vendors and a supply station that calls in drops.
  • Matches run in three phases: a 10-minute walled build, a 20-minute raid and 5 minutes of sudden death.
  • Every team’s quarter is painted in its colour: walls, quarry rig, canopy and cargo.
  • Bedwars and all six Arena maps now play under one fixed midday sun, with softer shadows and no night.

Arena also gained Drowned Dock: a flooded salvage basin fought underwater with harpoon guns and diving tanks.

Play with a controller

Xbox and PlayStation controllers now work for movement, combat, vehicles, building and menus. On-screen button hints match the controller you’re holding, and clicking with the mouse switches straight back.

New guns and gear

  • Lever Rifle: a deliberate, six-round medium-range rifle.
  • Pneumatic Scrap Rifle: a quiet workshop gun with cheap pellet ammo.
  • Salvage Harpoon Gun: built for fighting in and under the water.
  • The clothes and armour you wear now show on your first-person arms and gloves.

Building and bases

  • Roofs connect into proper rows with ridges and corners. An Advanced slot on the building wheel opens the specialty pieces.
  • Half-height floors keep their support from connected walls, and stacked half walls blend into one surface.
  • Placement previews are a clear blue or red ghost of the piece.
  • External walls and gates fit uneven ground.
  • New furniture: a storage shelf, an equipment locker that holds three loadouts, a chair you can sit and rest in, a table, a rug and a standing lamp.
  • Jumping feels more grounded: shorter airtime, less steering in the air and a short recovery when you land. Fall damage still depends only on drop height.

Sound

Gameplay, vehicle and ambient sounds were re-recorded, and weapon handling sounds now line up with the animations. Building, upgrading and repairing are easier to hear at normal distance.

Fixes

  • You can pick up backpacks on the cargo ship while it’s moving.
  • Guns, bows and rockets can no longer be fired while swimming.
  • Workbench 3 can research and craft lower-tier recipes.
  • Oil barrels always drop low grade fuel and crude oil, and you can craft your own refinery.
  • Furnaces process every split stack in each cycle.
  • Dead horses can be harvested.
  • If your connection stalls, the game now reconnects you automatically. The HUD shows your real ping.
