OUTSCRAP / DESKTOP APP

Play Outscrap
as an app.

It's the same free game, servers and account as in the browser, in its own window. Browser shortcuts stay out of your fights, it uses your fast graphics card, and it keeps full speed when you alt-tab.

01 / WHY THE APP

Built for long sessions.

  • Your keys stay in the game. Ctrl+W, Ctrl+R and F5 never close or reload the window mid-raid. F11 or Alt+Enter switches fullscreen.
  • Your fast graphics card. On laptops with two graphics chips, browsers often draw on the slower built-in one. The app asks for the fast one.
  • Its own window. Fullscreen with F11, no tabs or toolbar, and frames timed to your screen like the smoothest browser.
  • Full speed in the background. Alt-tab away and your game keeps up with the server instead of being slowed down.
  • Raid alerts on your desktop. Turn on desktop notifications under Settings → Notifications and your Raid Alarm and wipe alerts pop up on your computer, even after you close the game. Outscrap waits in the taskbar tray (the menu bar on a Mac) until you quit it there.
  • Always up to date. The game updates the moment a release goes live, just like the website. On Windows the app updates itself as well; on a Mac it tells you when a new version is ready to download.

02 / INSTALL IT

A minute to set up.

Windows

Run Outscrap-Setup.exe. It installs for your user only and opens the game, with a Start menu and desktop shortcut.

The app isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may say “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info → Run anyway. Your browser may also ask you to keep the file.

Mac

Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Outscrap into Applications.

The first time, macOS can't verify the developer. Open Outscrap once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. After that it opens normally. When a new version of the app is out, it offers you the download.

Why the warnings?

Windows and macOS warn about apps from developers who haven't bought a signing certificate yet. The installers come only from downloads.outscrap.com. Signing is planned, and the warnings will go away once it's done.

03 / YOUR PROGRESS

Sign in and it comes with you.

Sign in with Google or Discord, in the browser or the app, and your progress follows your account: solo and training islands, your multiplayer survivors, skins and Sparks, and your controls and other settings. Pick up on any computer where you sign in.

In the app, Sign in opens your usual browser to sign in, then brings you straight back. If you've played in the browser, sign in there once first so your islands reach your account.

Playing as a guest?

Guest progress stays in the browser or app you play in. Sign in (it's free) to keep it in your account.

04 / QUESTIONS

Good to know.

Is it the same game as the website?

Yes. The app opens outscrap.com in its own window, so you play on the same servers, with the same account, and always on the newest version.

What do I need?

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), or macOS 13 Ventura or later on any Mac (Apple silicon or Intel). Any graphics card that runs the game in Chrome will run it in the app.

How do I uninstall it?

On Windows, use Settings → Apps. On a Mac, drag Outscrap from Applications to the Trash. Signed-in progress stays in your account.

My laptop gets hot or loud.

Pick a lower graphics preset, or a 60 or 30 FPS limit under Settings → Graphics → Frame rate limit.

RATHER NOT INSTALL ANYTHING?

The browser works too.

Every mode plays at outscrap.com in Chrome or Edge.
